New Story... Soon!

Hello Darlings!
I know I haven't updated Greeks Freaks in a while and I will soon promise (thanks for all yalls reviews btw). However, I've recently been on spring break (went to the Keys, it was fucking awesome) and I did a little reading of this short, insignificant book *insert sarcasm* that you might have heard of...?
Gone with the Wind. Yep, read the epic in 5 days while all the guys I were with were being lazy and hungover, haha. And then read Scarlett in the 4 days following that. What can I say, I love to read.
Anyway, my point being is that I've been working on a GWTW/Twilight crossover.
I can already hear your excited squeals.
It'll be a lot of the wonderful Margaret Mitchell, a little Twilight, and a pinch of crazy me.
Now that I've told you what's up, here's a little sneak peak! (unbeta-ed so don't hate on the grammar please!)

There was a land of Cavilers and Cotton fields called the Old South…
Here in this pretty world Gallantry took its last bow…
Here was the last ever to be seen on Knights and their Ladies Fair, of Master and of Slave…
Look for it only in books for it is no more than a dream remembered.
A Civilization Gone with the Wind...
1
Isabelle Swann was beautiful and the men of Baldwin County noticed; her face was a picture of innocence that even the most traveled gentlemen claimed no other beauty in the world rivaled. In her face sat deep penetrating eyes which drew men in, those full cherry lips they dreamt of kissing, and rosy checks they wished to touch. With her milk-white skin – flashed appealingly to those beaus she fancied – and delicate personality, she was the epitome of a southern belle.
On the front porch of Whitehall, the Swann plantation home, she sat with the Mallory twins, Langston and Tucker. The two boys hung on her every word in the cool shade of the grand mansions veranda. In bloom around them were sweet smelling azaleas which matched the light pink muslin of Isabelle’s new dress, freshly in from Atlanta along with matching morocco slippers. The dress framed her figure beautifully, showing off her early developed chest and tiny waist where a white silk ribbon was tightly tied into a perfect bow. Her skirts were spread modestly over her pantalet clad legs not even giving a glimpse of her ankles – what a scandal that would entail if they had.
The twins lounged lazily on each side of her, fighting for her undivided attention as they sipped at the tall glasses of ice tea Bessie had provided. The boys, home from the University, regaled Isabelle with tale of how they had been expelled from school for the third time in two years. They had come to Whitehall hoping to avoid the wrath of their mother for at least another few hours as it would be expected of Isabelle to invite them to dinner. Langston and Tucker, although both brave nineteen year old men didn’t stand a chance against their mother who raised her children as she did her horses, with a firm hand and whip. They hid their fear well, and only the nervous twitching of their long legs, clad in tan breeches and riding boots, gave Isabelle any sign of their fear.
The three painted the picture of ease as they lounged upon the steps of the terrace. Although each born into the aristocratic plantation life, waited on hand and foot from birth did not look slack or dull as they enjoyed the spring time weather. They had about them a passion for life only seen in those young enough to not have seen the horrors of the real world. The twin’s heads were filed with dreams of the war, and the gallantry of defeating the damn Yankees. Isabelle’s mind was on the romanticism she’d only read about in books, hoping she’d find a young gentlemen to sweep her off her feet during the ball season – particularly a young gentlemen by the name of Jasper Whitlock.
Jasper was Isabelle’s heart desire for he was nothing like the other boys of the county. He spent his time deep in books and theological thought. Nothing like that of the Mallory twins who spent their time focused on the things that mattered in Clayton county; raising good cotton, riding well, shooting straight, dancing lightly, wooing ladies and carrying one’s liquor like a gentlemen. The twins excelled at these things and not in the learning of books as Jasper depended on. They got by right fine too, their family being the wealthiest in the tri-state area. But it was only Jasper Isabelle had eyes for and wished to marry with all her fifteen year old heart.
“I know you boys don’t care about being expelled, but don’t you think you should try and finish.” She said. “At this rate yall will never get an education like Jasper Whitlock.”
“Who says we want an education like Whitlock?” Langston defended. “It doesn’t matter anyway, we’d have to come back before the term was out.”
“Why?”
“The war of course, Isabelle!”
“It’s going to start any day now, and you don’t suppose we’d stay in school while a wars going on, do you?”
“Oh, fiddle-dee-dee! War, war, war, all you men talk about is war. There isn’t going to be any war.” Belle said bored. “At least I hope there isn’t. Why, the other day Jasper Whitlock and his father told Pa our commissioners in Washington would come to an amicable agreement with Mr. Lincoln.”
“That’s cause the Yankee’s are too scared to fight!” Tucker declared.
“There won’t be any war,” Isabelle said twirling the oriental fan she had in her hand. “and you boy’s should stop wishing for it.”
“No war?” The twins questioned together.
“Isabelle you’ve gone and lost your mind! Of course there’s going to be a war!”
Isabelle pursed her lips in a pout and Langston quickly leaned in to fix his brothers insult.
“Isabelle, honey, of course there is going to be a war. We’ve shelled Fort Sumter, they’ll have to fight and stand or be branded as cowards before the world!”
Isabelle was bored of the war talk. It was all she’d heard this spring at every ball and it was becoming unbearable. The usually docile young girl was to her wits end.
“If either of you boys says ‘war’ just once more, I’ll go in the house and shut the door.” She warned. “It’s all you men talk about morning, noon, and night. I can’t take it anymore.”
She smiled softly at the boys and they quickly apologized for causing her anxiety. They realized the sweet Isabelle had no need to hear of war talk, that was men’s business and only caused the ladies grief.
“Are you boy’s going to the barbeque tomorrow?” She questioned, batting her long ebony eye lashes at each.
“We’ve only heard about it, but of course we’ll be there.” said Tucker. “We expect to get plenty of your dances tomorrow night. You haven’t promised them all a way yet, have you?”
“Well… I had, but I couldn’t stand knowing I’d hurt the feelings of the two of you.”
“Oh honey, you’ve got to give us a dance each, and let us eat supper with you. We’ll do as we did last year and get our fortunes told.”
“I didn’t like those fortunes. That wicked woman told me I’d never marry a gentleman. The very idea!” Isabelle said exasperated. The idea did send her into a tizzy, because the thought that she wouldn’t marry her beloved Jasper broke her heart.
“You like ‘em well bred don’t you, honey?” Langston said with a smirk. “Now promise us those dances and the supper.”
“We’ll tell you a secret if you do.” Tucker added, raising his eye brow at his brother.
Isabelle smiled at the twin’s enthusiasm. She could never say no to the two of them.
“Alright, do tell.”
“We heard it yesterday in Atlanta, but we promised not to tell.”
“Oh, well…”
“Never mind that Tucker,” Langston said. “We heard it from Miss. Sue Cullen, the aunt of Jasper Whitlock’s cousin who live in Atlanta, Mary Alice and Peter Cullen.”
Isabelle nodded. She knew Miss Sue, the poor women had never married and had an awful fright. She could hardly be alone for an hour without feeling scared and faint.
“Well we saw her at the train depot yesterday and she told us there is to be an engagement tomorrow night at the Whitlock’s ball.”
“Oh how exciting!” Isabelle said dreamily. “Is it Peter’s engagement to Jasper’s sister Luella? Everybody’s been saying for years they’d be getting married some time. I think they’ll be lovely together.”
“Really, you sure let him flit around you an awful lot last year. You sure you don’t fancy him?” Asked Tucker.
“Oh no!” Isabelle exclaimed. “He was just being nice. You two think every beau out there has eyes for me.”
“Because they do!”
“Well it isn’t their engagement to be announced! It’s Jasper’s to Peter’s sister, Miss Mary Alice.”
Isabelle didn’t dare move. She blinked rapidly and her face drained of color as the words registered in her mind. It was such unexpected news her brain was reeling as it she’d received a slap to the face. The boys took her wide eyes as surprise and interest in the secret news.
“Miss Sue told us they’re announcing it early because of all the war talk going around, and both families thought the sooner they married the better. So tomorrow they’ll announce it before the ball. Now, we’ve told you a secret do we get a promise of dances and supper.”
“Of course.” Isabelle answered her voice weak.
“All the waltzes?”
“Yes.”
“You’re too sweet honey. Those other boys are going to be fightin’ mad.”
“Let them be mad,” said Tucker. “We can handle ‘em. Isabelle, honey, sit with us at the barbeque in to morning too.”
“Hmm?”
Tucker repeated the questioned and Isabelle nodded.
“Of course.”
The boys looked at each other happily, they’d always known they were her favored suitors, she could never say no to the two of them. In their joy the boys missed a heart break right before their eyes.

As you can see, MM is a big part of my writing right now, but I PROMISE its going to change A LOT in the future. I loved Scarlett, but she was a little too much of a bitch for me and that's saying something because when it comes to bitchy, I am queen!

Let me know what you think darlings!
